I worked as a Data Scientist on the KPMG Lighthouse team in charge of data technologies, and artificial intelligence tools for clients. I worked with Data Scientists and Consultants to calculate $500M+ of government subsidies for companies. We used Alteryx to create an automated calculator, and python to clean and feed client data. I also played a role in exploring a solution for parameter optimization for an internal machine learning model.
When COVID-19 hit, hundreds of companies relied on KPMG to calculate wage subsidies provided by the Government of Canada with complex rules. In my time at KPMG, the team collectively calculated $500M of subsidy for 100+ companies in Canada.
